Dessert for lazy folk like me!

I made this when it was super hot and I just couldn't be bothered to do much, who could with 40 degrees heat, and soaking in a puddle of my own sweat. The last thing I wanted to do was bake.

Yet I had a yearning, craving for something ultra sweet, tooth rottingly sweet.

I think it was the heat

It sapped all my energy and the only way I was going to get up and do anything was to consume sugar. A lot of sugar.

The @nytcooking app came to my rescue, and @ericjooho was my saviour with his recipe for cookies-and-cream pavlova.

Mine's a total riff (I'm sorry Eric, I couldn't do the whole two and a half hours of cooking time) so I cheated. There I confessed.

Shopped bought pavlova nests
Double cream which I whipped myself
And a packet of oreos

Spoon the cream into the meringue nests, break and crumble the oreo cookies and squish them into the cream.

Serve, eat and enjoy.

Imagine getting up on a Sunday and there’s a delivery at your door (and, it's not Amazon!).

A brown paper bag, that’s been delivered by cargo bike, bursting with goodies.

That’s what happened to me last weekend.

The wonderful people at @butter_and_crust dropped off a fabulous package.

It was one of their breakfast bundles packed into a brown paper bag.

The package was full of breakfast delights.

A huge artisan sourdough loaf, three chubby bagels, some cute sweet treats which didn’t last long once the teens discovered them. A pot of jam, a stick of cultured creamy butter and a delicious bottle of Townsend apple juice.

What was great about this breakfast is that it was perfect for our family.

I’m the early riser, a croissant and a coffee was perfect for me.

Hubby fuelled up on bread, jam, and juice before his bike ride, then sank a post-bike ride cookie hunkered down behind the weekend papers.

And when he teens finally deigned to get up, well it was brunch, luckily there were bagels close to hand.

So thank you @butter_and_crust for this delicious treat. This truly made our Sunday.

If you've hauled some potatoes out of the ground. Or you have some lurking in your kitchen. I have the recipe for you. You need Sri Lankan deviled potatoes.

These are hot and spicy with the crunch and tang of fresh spices and a smack of chilli to clear your head.

They are great to make with leftover boiled potatoes or any spare roasties you may have after your Sunday lunch.

Boiled potatoes (I prefer new potatoes with their skins on) fried up with garlic, ginger, onions and just a few spices.

Maple syrup. Tahini. Soya sauce. Lime juice. Garli

Maple syrup. Tahini. Soya sauce. Lime juice. Garlic. Ginger. Chilli. Tomatoes. Oranges.

Not my usual combination of flavours.

It's a combination of flavours I wouldn't have ever put together. And when they do collide, the flavours that somersault around your mouth.

I can't take the credit for this, these flavours belong to the genius chef, @ixta.belfrage. That's no surprise given she worked on the @ottolenghi cookbook, Flavour.

She created this divine salad for the @supa_ya_ramen pop-up which now has a permanent home in Hackney.
